Talk through whatever's on your mind with a calm, caring presence, check in with yourself each day, and grow one small step at a time — a warm place to land, whenever you need one.

How it works

Three small habits, one warm thread

1

Check in

Two minutes: how's your mood, your energy, what's on your mind. Mum reads what you share and offers to talk it through — or just lets it be, your call.

2

Talk, or take a step

Tell Mum anything and she listens first. Or take today's tiny step on a pathway — a little teaching, one doable practice, a line in your journal.

3

Watch yourself come into focus

Your self-map gathers the thread: your week's moods, your streak, your themes. Gentle evidence that you're showing up for yourself.

Mum's voice

Listens first. One good question at a time.

I keep redoing the same paragraph of my application. Three days now.
Three days on one paragraph — that sounds exhausting, love. What do you imagine happens if you send it as it is?
Honestly? They'd probably just read it. It's the version in my head that's brutal.
You spotted that yourself — the reader is kinder than the critic. Would it help to send it tonight, before the critic wakes up?

An illustrative example of Mum's style — not a recording of a real conversation.

What you'll find

Everyday support, the way a wise friend gives it

Talk it through

A calm, caring AI companion who reflects what you're feeling and asks one thoughtful question at a time. No lectures, no info-dumps — just presence.

Gentle daily rituals

Two-minute check-ins, a steadying breathing minute for wobbly moments, and a 7-day mood picture that shows your week at a glance.

A bridge to real people

Sometimes you need more than an app — and saying so is part of caring for you. Mum can introduce you to accredited human counsellors, by video.

Meditations & calm

Something steadying for any moment

Guided practices and original calming soundscapes — to settle a racing mind, soften a hard moment, or drift off to sleep.

A steadying breath Kind to yourself Coming back to now Letting the day go Soundscapes & sleep

Written from well-established practice, paced to your breath, in Mum's gentle voice.

Pathways

Short journeys, one small step a day

Getting to know yourself The courage to be yourself Building one habit that sticks Repair after a falling out Quieting the inner critic

Each day: a little teaching in Mum's voice, one tiny practice, and a line for your journal. Grounded in well-established psychology, written with warmth.

The honest bit

What Mum is — and what she isn't

Most apps bury this in the fine print. We think it belongs on the front page.

Mum is

  • A wellbeing & self-reflection companion for adults (18+)
  • An AI — and she'll always tell you so
  • Private by design: your words stay on your device, are never sold, and you can export or delete everything any time
  • A doorway to real, accredited human counsellors when you want more

Mum is not

  • Therapy, counselling, medical care, or diagnosis
  • A crisis service or emergency support

If you're struggling right now: please reach a real person. Find a helpline in your country at findahelpline.com, or contact your local emergency number. Inside the app, help lines for your region are always one tap away.

Questions

Asked honestly, answered honestly

Is Mum therapy?

No — and we never call it that. Mum is wellbeing support: reflection, gentle psychology-based practices, and someone steady to talk to. If what you're carrying needs clinical care, Mum will say so and help you find a real, accredited counsellor instead of pretending she's enough.

Who is Mum for?

Adults, 18 and over — especially people who don't have a steady, supportive person to turn to right now. She's built to feel like a warm, wise presence: someone in your corner at 11pm when the group chat is asleep.

What happens to what I tell her?

Your profile, check-ins, journals and conversation are stored on your own device — not on our servers. When the AI replies, your recent messages pass through our secure server to the AI provider to generate the response, and aren't kept there. You can export everything or delete everything, any time, from Settings. We never sell your data.

What does it cost?

The heart of Mum is free — talking things through, daily check-ins, the habit tracker, the steady minute, and crisis help all stay free, always. Mum Premium is an optional subscription that opens the full library of pathways and meditations, for when you want to go deeper. Sessions with human counsellors, when that launches, are priced by each counsellor — Mum is just the doorway, and says so.

What if I'm in crisis?

Mum is not a crisis service, and she's honest about that. The app watches for signs that things are heavier than everyday support — in chat, check-ins and journals — and when it sees them, she stops the usual flow and brings up real human crisis lines for your region, available 24/7. A "get help" button is always one tap away, too.

Come as you are

No streak guilt, no pressure, no judgement. Just a warm place to start.

Why Mum exists

Mum began with my own mum — the one who sat with me through the hard times and always gave me a soft place to land.

This one's for Katie.

Because everyone deserves a Mum: someone in your corner, and a warm place to land.
